NEEDLES JACKETS
Needles jackets go well past the classic track top. This collection gathers the boxy Piping Cowboy Jacket, the velour rib collar bomber and the collaboration jackets with Beams, AWGE and Lapstone, alongside the mainline colours.

A Needles jacket is not only the track jacket. The label also makes the boxy Piping Cowboy Jacket with snap buttons and butterfly embroidery, a velour track jacket with a bomber-style rib collar, and collaboration jackets in fleece and velour. Prices here run from $191 for AWGE velour to $349 for the rib collar.
Needles has always mixed American workwear, Western wear and sportswear, and its outerwear shows all three. The track jacket gets most of the attention, and it has its own dedicated collection. Everything else lives here.
The most distinctive piece is the Piping Cowboy Jacket in Black ($299). The sheet describes a cowboy shirt jacket in a boxy shape, with piping, butterfly embroidery and snap buttons applied all over. The body is a polyester and rayon blend, and it is made in Japan. It is the jacket for people who like the Western shirts in the Needles shirts collection and want something heavier.
The Velour Rib Collar Track Jacket in Navy ($349) keeps the papillon and striped taping but swaps the standard collar for a ribbed bomber one, in soft velour. Then the collaborations: Beams brings fleece and colour-blocking, AWGE brings a relaxed velour cut, and Lapstone brings a lightweight black 76ers jacket with bold stripes.
I wore the Piping Cowboy Jacket through a full autumn in Los Angeles, which is exactly the weather it suits: cool mornings, warm afternoons. The boxy cut means it hangs straight from the shoulder and stops around the hip without hugging anything. Over a white tee it looks like a proper jacket; over a hoodie it looks deliberately oversized.
The detailing is where it earns its price. The contrast piping gives every edge an outline, so the jacket reads as a drawing even from a distance, and the embroidered butterflies are small enough to discover rather than announce. The snaps close with a satisfying click. The fabric has a slight drape from the rayon, so it moves more than a denim Western jacket would.
On fit, broad clients liked it most because the boxy shape gives the chest room. Tall, slim clients sometimes found it a touch wide, and took their usual Needles size rather than going up. I paired mine most often with black H.D. Trackpants, which is the kind of Western-meets-sportswear mix Needles does best.

Beyond the two pieces above, the collaboration jackets are the Needles x Beams Fleece Track Jacket in Brown Green ($219), the Beams Fleece Track Jacket in Navy Purple ($249), the Lapstone x Needles 76ers Track Jacket ($249) and the Needles x AWGE Velour Track Jacket ($191). For a mainline colour, the Track Jacket in Dark Green ($245) is my pick. If you want a soft layer instead of a jacket, the Needles x Studious Mohair Papillon Cardigan ($209) does a similar job.

You pay nothing for standard shipping, wherever you are, and the tracking number is sent by email once your jacket leaves. Delivery is estimated at 6 to 27 business days depending on location and customs, per the shipping policy. An order starts processing immediately and cannot be changed or cancelled after it is placed. Unworn, unwashed jackets with tags qualify for an exchange or store credit if you ask within 7 days of delivery; the refund policy has the terms. It is the Needles Piping Cowboy Jacket, a cowboy shirt jacket cut in a boxy shape. Piping, embroidered butterflies and snap buttons are applied all over, which gives it a strong Western look with the Needles papillon twist. The one in stock is black, in a polyester and rayon body, made in Japan, at $299 in sizes S to XL.
The Velour Rib Collar Track Jacket in Navy is the dressiest option. It keeps the papillon embroidery and contrast striped taping of the track jacket but uses a bomber-style ribbed collar and soft velour, so it sits comfortably over a knit or a shirt. At $349 it is the most expensive jacket here, and it is stocked from S to XL.
Needles uses Japanese sizing, which runs about one size smaller than US sizing. For the track styles and collaboration jackets, most people go up one size, especially for layering. The Piping Cowboy Jacket is already boxy, so many slim wearers keep their usual Needles size. Check stocked sizes too, since the AWGE and Lapstone jackets only go up to L.
